A big Thank You to BNOX, the people of Pepin and Rochester Towing!!!
I recently drove up to Pepin Wisconsin to pick up some art work from a show. I ended up putting more than just a few prints in the car's trunk. I locked the keys in there as well! The people in Pepin, and Bnox in particular, were so kind and turned what could have been a disastrous day into an unexpected adventure. A number of men passing by tried to find a way into the cars trunk without a key but to no avail. The local sheriff didn't have anything that would do the job ether. Finally a kind woman gave me her AAA card. AAA was able to find someone who could do the work late on Saturday afternoon. They were an hour and half away in Minnesota, and had to have the local dealership there cut a new key for me. I had a nice lunch at the Harbor View Cafe and took in the sites of Pepin. Spending a lot of time sketching and watching the people: some young boys skipping stones into the flooded harbor while their parents launched the boat, a lovely nursery with funky art sculptures and lots of sail boats. Someone from the Minnesota garage arrived at 5:00, over 4 hours after I had planned to leave. But Pepin had more to show me and I'm glad I took the time see it.
